Discover Diamond Valley Lake
Diamond Valley Lake is a fisherman's paradise. Located in Hemet, California, it's one of the biggest man-made reservoirs in all of Southern California—Diamond Valley Lake has a capacity of 800,000 acre-feet, measures 260 ft deep, and has 4,500 surface acres. That's plenty of space for fishing, boating, and enjoying the sights. Let's see some of the activities available at this reservoir!
Fishing on the Lake
Diamond Valley Lake is well-known for fishing. Black bass, bluegill, striper, panfish, rainbow trout, and catfish are among the several fish that anglers should expect to catch. Since there's such a variety of fish, you're sure to have an interesting experience regardless of your level of fishing experience.
Boating Excursions
Diamond Valley Lake has a fully-functional marina which offers a selection of boats for rent, including bass boats, fishing boats, and pontoons. Bringing your own boat is also an option if you adhere to the boating policies. Once you're aboard, you can sail out onto the surface of the lake to enjoy the scenery or cast your line in deeper waters. Looking for a place to store your boat at the end of the day? StaxUP Storage - Homeland is only a few miles away from the reservoir and offers long-term parking for boats, RVs, and cars.
Hikes and Bike Rides
Comprising 21.8 miles, the Diamond Valley Lakeside Loop circles the reservoir and provides amazing vistas and an opportunity to connect with the surrounding nature. Popular among residents as well as visitors, the trail is perfect for mountain biking and hiking. Rent an e-bike from the marina to enjoy the trail more easily—each bike also comes with a small mounted cooler, so you can even pack a picnic.
The Beauty of Nature
Natural splendor and a wealth of species abound around Diamond Valley Lake. From brilliant wildflowers to magnificent birds, the lake's habitat is a photographer's fantasy. Perfect for a picnic or a peaceful time of contemplation, the Clayton A. Record, Jr. Viewpoint offers sweeping views of the lake and the surrounding landscape.

Located just a few minutes' drive away from the reservoir, the Western Science Center shares the beauty of the natural world with the Inland Empire and beyond.
